The SADR Method

I started dancing, singing, and learning how to stretch my body and create more space since early childhood. I always intuitively craved self expression through different movements and releasing sound. I say releasing sound because I never had the best singing voice. I would always also be made fun of for my singing voice nevertheless I kept on keeping on!

SADR stands for Somatic Alchemy, Discovery, and Reconnection. I had Somatic Alchemy down when I lived in Iran. I would dance, release sound, and alchemize my traumatic experiences into these nourishing movements, but I could not go any further than that because I did not have a safe human and a safe environment around to process what was coming up in the way that I have now. So, I created the rest of the method 11 years into my immigration far away from that un-safety.

As I got more and more into my own training and trauma processing and witnessing trying so many modalities like EMDR, breathwork, Partswork, Kinrgy(somatic expression that includes dance, breathwork, and the elements all in one), Acupuncture, Body work + Chiropractic adjustments, energy healing, nervous system based healing modalities according to polyvagal theory, and so many more I realized that I was on the right track in my childhood and added the Discovery and Reconnection to bring it home.

Each part is inspired by a part of my own journey. Somatic Alchemy is coming from my endless days and nights of singing, dancing, stretching, and releasing in my room as a kid to process my trauma. The Discovery is coming from writing, painting and doing impressions to figure out who I am through those artistic expressions. And Reconnection was the last piece that I could only access when I was witnessed by multiple safe communities. Isn’t it odd how with the help of others we come back to ourselves? Once I learned that we are biologically wired to be in communities, it wasn’t so odd to me anymore! It is also the gift of integration and deep parts witnessing through it that I reconnected to my authentic self, and it’s an on-going journey!

I use multiple modalities and concepts in the SADR method to help you explore ways to get reconnected with who you are at your core as you gently move through and grow through some past traumas, and the beauty of that is that it gets to be customized to each and every one of you meeting you exactly where you are! 🫶🏽

I use tools like intuitive movement, breathwork, sound releasing, vagal toning, energy work, specific exercises to help you get acquainted with emotions if you have been disconnected with them for a long time that are trauma + polyvagal + IFS(Internal Family Systems) informed, journaling, writing, painting, drawing, stretching, talking, and so many more combinations of these and others. I have used all of these on clients so far and have seen tremendous progress in them all. It’s the combination of our presence in your sacred witnessing and these tools that make the magic! These are all of course curated in the most gentle ways because this gets to be in small bites and consistent, which is exactly the opposite of most of our initial trainings (that’s what I call childhood🤓).
